In Memoriam: Celebrating Dr. Bruce Todd

Dr. Bruce Todd, who passed away suddenly in November 2012, joined the UBC Chemistry Department in 1990 as a Killam Post-Doctoral Fellow. In the following 13 years, Bruce taught a variety of chemistry courses including CHEM 151, CHEM 205, CHEM 211, and CHEM 311. Furthermore, from 2000-2011 he served as the Manager and Director of the Instrumentation Prototyping and Development Facility of the UBC Laboratory for Molecular Biophysics - a shared facility used by many members of the Chemistry Department.

The University of British Columbia is currently in the process of creating an award in his memory. The Bruce Todd Memorial Award will be given annually to a member of both the Men’s and Women’s UBC Thunderbird Varsity Hockey Team.
