Abstract

We report muon spin rotation measurements of the local magnetic susceptibility around a positive muon in the V 15 spin 1 / 2 molecular nano-magnet. We find that the measured temperature dependence of the local susceptibility agrees with bulk. No temperature dependence is observed below 200 mK, indicating that at these temperatures the V 15 molecular spin resides in its S = 1 2 ground state.
