Abstract:
Automation and data analytics are transforming the way Process Chemistry supports drug development. This talk will outline how Gilead is strategically incorporating digital tools such as remote monitoring, Bayesian optimization, and automated experimentation platforms into existing R&D workflows to enhance scientific decision-making. Case studies will demonstrate how these technologies improve process understanding, accelerate experimental cycles, and reduce material use, all while reinforcing the essential role of scientists in driving innovation. Rather than replacing human expertise, these tools are designed to augment it, enabling more effective and efficient development processes.
