There are a wide range of opportunities available in a number of related fields such as materials and biomedical sciences, bioengineering and chemical engineering, food science, pharmacology, toxicology, oceanography or marine science. Chemists conduct important research in government, industry, university and clinical labs, and teach in schools and post-secondary institutions.
Chemistry can also lead to medical, dental or veterinary school or professional studies in areas like business and law. Chemistry opens the doors for any number of careers, from science journalism to forensics.

UBC Science 101: Science 101 is a four-month, non-credit, barrier free course offered to residents of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside and other inner-city communities.
