Abstract

Absolute photoabsorption cross-sections (oscillator strengths) have been measured for the valence shell and selected (Cl 2p, Br 3d and I 4d) inner shell excitations in HCl, HBr and HI, respectively at photon energies up to 280 eV using dipole (e,e) spectroscopy. Absolute scales are established using the S(0) and S(-2) sum rules. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
