Abstract: The reactivity profiles of nickel-containing complexes are underdeveloped compared to complexes of group 10 homologues platinum and palladium. I will discuss our experimental mechanistic results of C(sp3)-H bond activation studies at nickel(II) complexes, with comparisons to other group 10 metals where appropriate. In addition, I will describe the syntheses of a variety of nickel(I) complexes which are relevant for C-H bond activation.
