Prof. Brian Goess graduated from Notre Dame University in 1998 with a degree in Chemistry, where he worked for three years as an undergraduate in the lab of Prof. Paul Helquist. He then moved to Harvard, where he studied under Prof. Matthew Shair and graduated in 2004. After a postdoctoral appointment at Princeton with Prof. Erik Sorensen, Dr. Goess joined the faculty of Furman University in 2006, where he is now an Associate Professor. Furman is a private, primarily undergraduate college in Greenville, South Carolina. The Chemistry Department at Furman has a nationally recognized research program centered around the training of undergraduate chemists in research.
