Congratulations to PhD student Justin Koh (Mehrkhodavandi Group) for receiving the REX Mentor of the Year Award!
REX is a six month long program designed to help undergraduate students build essential research skills through a proposed research project. At the end of the REX program, mentees will have the opportunity to present their finished projects at the Multidisciplinary Undergraduate Research Conference (MURC), publish in the Canadian Journal of Undergraduate Research (CJUR), or complete another deliverable approved by their mentor. REX is run by the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, under the AMS.
The award is given to a graduate student or postdoc mentor who surpasses expectations in supporting undergraduate mentees in their REX projects and the winners are nominated by mentees. Both of Justin's students, Sophie and Tiffany, presented their work at MURC this year.
