Abstract:
Ultracold molecules can be used to test fundamental physics, simulate many-body quantum systems, process quantum information, and study ultracold chemistry. We capture molecules in a magneto-optical trap, cool them to a few µK, trap them magnetically, and coherently control their rotational state. I will present these recent results and our plans to study ultracold collisions, make arrays of interacting molecules, and use ultracold molecules to measure the electron’s electric dipole moment.
