WestGrid

WestGrid is a CFI-funded consortium involving all the universities west of Ontario, and provides high performance computing (HPC), networking, and collaborative and visualization tools for researchers in any discipline. It is used daily by hundreds of researchers. Within the Chemistry Department, WestGrid infrastructure is utilized by physical and theoretical chemists to simulate physical systems or calculate molecular properties, as well as by synthetic chemists to explore the structure and dynamics of chemical systems.

WestGrid is also part of a national initiative funded by the newly created National Platforms Fund of CFI which will see an order of magnitude expansion of its HPC capabilities. With this expansion, Canadian researchers will be able to access one of the best HPC environments in the world.
