2018 FALL SESSIONAL LECTURER POSITION

The Department of Chemistry at the University of British Columbia invites applications for one (1) sessional lecturer position for the 2018 Fall Session (September – December). The salary range for these positions depends on qualifications and experience. Individuals with a M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in chemistry and successful teaching experience are preferred. Familiarity with computer interfaces and online teaching systems (UBC Canvas) is an asset. CHEM 121 – Structure and Bonding in Chemistry: Fundamentals of bonding theories and structural chemistry, with applications relevant to modern society.

CHEM 121 (2 sections) will be delivered through UBC Vantage College program facilitating academic progress for International students. As such, successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.

CHEM 233 Organic Chemistry for the Biological Sciences: Reactions and properties of carbonyl compounds, carbohydrates, amino acids, nucleic acids. The successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
