The above fund provides partial support to enable MSc and PhD students in the Department of Chemistry to give a conference or symposium presentation. Resources are limited and not all applicants can be funded. Decisions are based on the perceived merits of the applications.
Award Criteria
| Value: | $250 |
| Number: | Awards will be given twice each year. If all awards are not made during a given application period, the uncommitted funds may be carried forward to the next competition period. |
| Location: | Conferences/symposia held outside of BC |
| Deadlines: | March 15 - For meetings held prior to October 15 October 15 - For meetings to be held prior to March 15 |
| Recipients: | Applicants must be registered in either an M.Sc. or Ph.D. programme in Chemistry. Each recipient may receive only one of these awards during their graduate career. The quality of the work to be presented is to be a major criterion in making the award. |
| Other: | A student may concurrently hold this award and similar funding from other University–administered funds (e.g. Graduate Student Travel Fund) to travel to a given meeting. The departmental Scholarships and Awards Committee shall be responsible for adjudicating these awards in situations where the number of applications exceeds the funds available. |
